From the President's jokey slide show presentation at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association annual dinner, according to AP:

There was Bush looking under furniture in a fruitless, frustrating search. "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere," he said.
I'd love to know whether the 1,500 people in attendance all thought that was funny.

i think he really was searching for wmd, wilbur's magic dust. (the new level of stupidity in the article makes me wonder.) but come on, i read that article and i don't think it is really something to be joking about. then again, all the people at the dinner could be his bigwig buddies who got him where he is.

I think this was a pretty horrible show of affairs. A colleague of mine (who is a devout Republican) came over to me today and said "Did you see what happened the other night?", and I knew exactly what he was talking about. He followed that up with "Yeah, I'm sure all the people who have had their arms and legs blown off looking for WMDs find that really funny."
