MemeLast

Every meme has to come to an end, and MemeFirst is no exception. This blog is going into archive mode in a week — no more comments, no more posting. MemeFirst's contents will remain, though, so that the pyramids of wit built here collectively over the 3-and-something years will last into eternity. Or something.

For the next week, I will leave comments open, so if you feel like one last hurrah, go for it. I'm sure there will be plenty more blogging projects in our collective futures. I for one plan to blog assiduously my move to Cairo in March — part of my cunning plan to make the Middle East more secular (on average) by moving there. Imagine if we all moved. See?

Absolutely, with Sterling there and Eurof goading him on to new heights of lunacy(funny but dangerous Eurof) there can be no doubt that the Middle East will finally be a blissful place...

Well it's been a blast. Bye bye MF, and thanks for all the fish, as they say.

I've just had my sanity questioned by someone who bar-pressed the comment submit button like a rhesus monkey wired into a cocaine drip.

It's been 2+ years since I accidentally stumbled upon this place and Sterling finally makes me laugh with that rhesus monkey comment.

I've always thought this was truly the best group blog in town, were in not for the infrequent posting. Stefan - my father's from Cairo and I've at times considered moving there. It's hands down the most thrilling city in the world. Especially the taxi rides.

Bye.

I think you're insane to move to Cairo. I just left there today. The taxi drivers are absolutely talented; it amazes me that millions don't die daily.

Funny, my second cousin's nephew just moved to Egypt from Denmark to work as a diving instructor. Good luck Stephan. Sad to see this forum go, but the good news is that without Sadaam the world is now safe from terrorism so Memefirst leaves the world in a better state than it found it.
